Rights of Persons with Disabilities Cell
The RPwD Cell (Rights of Persons with Disabilities Cell) functions under the Department of Students’ Welfare to address issues related to the rights, accessibility, and welfare of students with disabilities in the University and affiliated colleges. The Cell has been constituted to ensure the effective implementation of the provisions of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPwD) Act and to provide a dedicated grievance redressal mechanism for PwD students. The Cell addresses concerns related to examination accommodations, including extra time, scribe assistance, assistive technologies, accessible infrastructure, and other reasonable accommodations required for ensuring inclusive education. It also undertakes awareness and sensitisation programmes to educate students, teachers, and institutions about the rights and entitlements of persons with disabilities.
