University Level Anti-Ragging Committee (ULARC)
Organized with a target of saying a ‘Big No’ to ragging in our campuses, the ULARC has conducted various anti-ragging campaigns in the campus and has actively participated in the anti ragging activities at the district level and state level cells. The ULARC has considered several complaints/appeals from the students of affiliated institutions. It also conducted independent enquiries, on certain complaints where the Principals/HoDs had failed to act as per UGC Anti-Ragging Regulations. Students who found guilty by the Cell were awarded punishments as per the Anti-ragging regulations
Posters and pamphlets for Anti-Ragging campaign were distributed to various colleges/institutions affiliated to the University. In compliance with the direction of the Hon’ble Supreme Court monthly comprehensive feedback on Anti ragging measures is forwarded to the Governor’s Secretariat before the 5th of every month.
Instructions given to Institutions /Centres/Colleges /University Departments in connection with curbing the menace of ragging every academic year. The Committee directed the institutions to give proper awareness about ragging and the need and importance of reporting the complaints at the right time. Also instructions were given to Institutions /Centres/Colleges /University Departments to constitute an Anti Ragging Squad. During the past five years statistics of Ragging Complaints shows that the number of complaints decreases, which gives a sign that the anti-ragging measures of University is a fruitful one.
